Estimation of Uplift Pressure Equation at Key Points under Floor of Hydraulic Structures

چکیده

Most of the hydraulic structures rest on an impervious foundation to reserve water at upstream side. The heads difference leads movement from higher lower head through porous soil layer beneath foundation, generating uplift pressure under structure floor. In this study, a new method is presented estimate pressures key points by performing sub-surface flow analysis using Analysis SYStem (ANSYS) software. Then statistical validate proposed equations conducted SPSS case study for research barrage in Kufa city-Iraq. used data implement was levels, permeability, and length imperious foundation. obtained results show good outcomes develop equations. comparison current with Khosla’s equation showed agreement where coefficient determination (R2) standard error estimation (SEE) were between (99.9–97.8) (0.024–0.11), respectively.
